1oz 2020 Silver Britannia UK Mint (Queen)

The 1oz 2020 Britannia coins features the original design created by Philip Nathan in 1987. The goddess Britannia stands on the shores of Britain in a victorious pose, bearing a shield and trident symbolising honour and protection. The design was inspired by the defeat of Napoleon in the early 19th Century, shortly after which Britannia coins made a revival in the Great Recoinage of 1817. Also featured on the reverse is the coin's weight, purity, country of origin and year of mintage.

The obverse side features the current effigy of Queen Elizabeth created by Ian Rank-Broadly. To the right of the coin is the Latin abbreviation "Dei Gra Re Fid Def" meaning "Queen by the Grace of God."
